A day after celebrating my birthday, I attended the first funeral in 2012. In fact, it was the only funeral I've ever been to after 7 years. It certainly made me reflect my own shortcomings as a Muslim. It made me realize how short our lives are, how the world we live in is temporary and how important our faith in God is.

Yesterday: Twenty one, finally!!
What's more important than counting down with the rest of the world to my birthday and receiving birthday gifts each year, is knowing that I've gained and learned so much at the end of every year. One year has gone by and here comes a new one. I hope that 2012 will bring more good memories, opportunities and new life lessons to be learnt.
And so begins Chapter 2012, page 1 out of 365.
